The Experience

The Boosterthon Fun Run experience combines a fun fitness event, an interactive character program, and a highly profitable school fundraiser. It’s all wrapped up in an unforgettable experience that is fun for students and hassle-free for schools.

With the Boosterthon Fun Run, there is nothing to sell and no door-to-door. Students help their school simply by gathering pledges from friends and family. Sponsors can pledge a per-lap amount or flat donation toward that student’s Boosterthon Fun Run. The lap average for all students on the day of the Fun Run is 25-35. So if a family friend pledges a dollar per lap, that would be a tax deductible gift to the school of $25-$35.

The Boosterthon Fun Run program lasts nine days and has three parts

Pep Rally

This is the opening kickoff to the Boosterthon. The Boosterthon Fun Run team leads this exciting assembly-style meeting in the school gym. The team explains that the Boosterthon Fun Run will be happening next week and how every student will run and every student will get a free t-shirt. The team also talks about how students will learn character lessons over the next eight days while also getting pledges to help their school. Students leave school that day with an informational PledgePack and their own personal access code to funrun.com.

Team Days

The next six days are Team Days. This is the time when the Boosterthon Fun Run team talks more about the character theme, rewards students for helping their school, and reminds classes about the upcoming Boosterthon Fun Run. Every class becomes a team with the teacher as their coach. They pick a team nickname and create a team banner. Team Days are designed so that schools can continue about their learning schedule as normal as Team Day activities last, on average, 3-5 minutes per day per class.

Fun Run

This is the day everyone’s been waiting for! The Boosterthon Fun Run team begins setting up the Boosterthon speedway early in the morning. When students arrive to class, they put on their Boosterthon All-Star jerseys and prepare to come out to the speedway. Students run for 30 minutes to upbeat, themed music. Parents line the inside of the track as the official cheer squad.

Most students run somewhere between 25 and 35 laps (35 is the lap cap). From the water station to the sound system, the Boosterthon Fun Run team is on hand to take care of every detail and ensure that students, teachers, and parents all have a blast. As the run ends, laps are tallied and students review the character lessons.
